With the emergence of social media as a customer relationship management tool, WTSO realized they needed to get into the game, or risk losing customers to those competitors who had.
Hoopla Marketing & PR analyzed WTSO’s social media presence, created a new content-rich social media strategy, developed an exciting Facebook contest to attract new Fans, and has been posting and tweeting unique, interesting, interactive content multiple times a day since November of 2010.
Such communication has drawn almost 10,000 likes to their Facebook page and 9,000 followers to their Twitter base … and that keeps growing daily! Hoopla utilizes images and questions to maximize the potential of each post – composing appealing messages with limited characters. To avoid having a monotonous voice, Hoopla also provides news, anecdotes and insight into the Wine and Spirits industry to maintain consumer interest and add value to followers’ social media feeds.
In addition to Social Media, Hoopla managed WTSO’s foray into the charity realm, pairing the company with Music 4 More, a group that supports underfunded school music and arts programs. With Hoopla’s help, WTSO held a “One Day Sale” for which the charity received a percentage of the profits. Customers were eager to help support such a worthy cause, and the resulting revenue – on top of what went to charity – was proof. Fall 2011 included a series of Music 4 More east coast concert events called “Songs from the Vine,” where WTSO was the headline sponsor, and proceeds went to the non-profit. These special charity events helped frame WTSO as a good corporate citizen in the minds of their customers, which instilled further loyalty to the brand.
Finally, Hoopla writes creative enticing email blast copy for WTSO to send out to their database, encouraging the potential customers to participate in specials and events. Although the data is proprietary, WTSO says there has been a marked increase in open-rates and sales since Hoopla began helping with its email and social media communications.
